Our education is based on a spiraling curriculum in that it meets and supports the child’s
distinct development in each year of childhood– reiterating, deepening, and enlivening
human understanding with each turn of the spiral year after year. To oversee the
intellectual, emotional, and physical development of the children, a dedicated class
teacher shepherds each group of students in both their broad and their unique
development in their journey at Rose Rock. This stewardship does not occur in
isolation, but rather in consultation and collaboration with a team of teachers
specializing in childhood development. The following descriptions across 1st thru 3rd
grades (our first focus) and through the middle years of 4th thru 8th grades (the
program we hope to grow) can give families a picture of how this spiraling and
developmentally relevant curriculum looks at Rose Rock.
